Activision has released the official fact sheet for ‘Transformers: The Game’ after revealing the first footage at Toy Fair in New York this past week. For now, those of us not privy to the behind-closed-doors demos will have to wait a bit longer to see the game in action.
In the game you’ll take the reigns of either an Autobot tasked with protecting earth, or a Decepticon tasked with destroying it. Playable characters will include the big names from the film like Optimus Prime, Starscream, Bumblebee, Megatron and others, as well as some fan favorites from yesteryear that have yet to be revealed.
Activision and developer Traveller Tales are focusing on the Transformers’ mass and weight to affect how they both fight and interact with fully destructible environments. In this world every object from lamp posts to entire buildings can be either picked up or smashed by the giant bots. The fun could be endless if the world turns out to be one giant wide open sandbox begging for exploration.
We’ll keep our eyes peeled for the first official Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 screenshots and pass them along as soon as they’re secured.
