Fans of Ray Harryhausen and his revolutionary special effects should be ecstatic to learn ’20 Million Miles to Earth (50th Anniversary Edition)’ is coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 4th courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. A two-disc standard DVD version is due to hit stores on July 31.
We have every reason to believe the Blu-ray version will be identical in terms of content — including both black & white and color versions of the film — to the upcoming DVD version. The Blu-ray version will be pressed onto a single BD-50 disc and be presented in 1.85:1 1080p video and either Dolby Digital 5.1 or Mono audio.
’20 Million Miles to Earth (50th Anniversary Edition)’ on Blu-ray Disc will carry an SRP of $28.95. As this title is still a ways out, we don’t expect high resolution cover art for at least a couple months.
