Activision released their final Wii U port of 2012 yesterday in the form of 007 Legends. Up until now we haven’t known how the game will take advantage of the Wii U GamePad. Now we do.
The obvious use for the GamePad in 007 Legends is to hack safes, flip switches, and other little distractions peppered throughout the game. Bond’s high-tech gadgets that follow him into the past will also be available with a simple touch of the GamePad screen.
A neat new exclusive are split-screen multiplayer modes that Activision calls “nostalgic.” I’m wondering if this allows up to five players to play on the same console with four Wii Remotes and the fifth on the GamePad. Or, if it’s a notch below that with two on the main screen and the third on the GamePad.
Also exclusive to Wii U are some additional character outfits, and the Skyfall bonus levels are already packed onto the disc so you won’t have to stop playing and download them.
