Despite a Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer leak and Warner Bros. choosing to respond to said leak by releasing the official trailer earlier than planned, tonight’s big Batman v Superman event at roughly 100 IMAX screens around North America was a huge success. So much so that director Zack Snyder celebrated by sharing a new image from the flick via his Twitter feed.
A big draw for the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice IMAX event was a sliver of new footage inserted into the trailer. The footage, that will not be screened in any other capacity prior to the film’s release, shows an angry Batman (Ben Affleck) squaring off against Superman (Henry Cavill) with a snarl and then a running leap into one another.
Those who braved two hour-plus lines to see the IMAX Batman v Superman trailer in IMAX twice this evening were rewarded with a ticket that will get them into a screening of the film the week before its official release in March 2016. Good job taking care of your die hard fans, Warner Bros. That goodwill will go a long way.
As for the new image, it’s a full body shot of the Batfleck suit resting comfortably in the Bat Cave. I bet you that chamber spins shut and then opens by command.
Thanks to everyone that turned out for the #MondayBvSSpecialIMAXEvent screenings tonight! #BatmanvSuperman pic.twitter.com/52KvKy1lUi
