A crashed First Order Tie Fighter on the desert sands of the planet Jakku isn’t the only thing sizzling hot in today’s Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens Comic-Con behind-the-scenes footage reel.
Director J.J. Abrams, producer and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and writer Lawrence Kasdan brought Hall H to thunderous applause along with stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford with a nearly four-minute behind-the-scenes look at Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It was the perfect answer to earlier confirmation that Lucasfilm and Disney would not followup the awesome second Star Wars Episode VII trailer with a third at the big San Diego show.
I don’t want to be the herald of spoilers by describing anything seen in the footage before you get a chance to check it out yourself. Watch it below once or maybe 10 times for good measure, preferably with the volume not muted.
I’ll be back a little later with an in-depth look at some of the obvious and not-so-obvious new things this Star Wars: The Force Awakens making-of footage reveals, from possible plot spoilers to a certain bounty hunter showing up as either concept art or inspiration via an image tacked to a wall.
