Tonight you can finally watch the 2016 MTV Movie Awards despite the actual show being taped 24 hours prior. The complete winners list is already all over the Internet, but there are definitely some “fantastic” reasons to watch the live broadcast that have nothing to do with celebrity hijinks. Watch MTV Movie Awards 2016 online free live streaming with no cable required if your TV is otherwise tuned to Fear The Walking Dead or something else.
The MTV Movie Awards, hosted this year by Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, aren’t taken anywhere near as seriously as say the Golden Globes or Academy Awards, but they’ve carved out their own substantial audience that has attracted movie studios and stars alike. This interest in the annual awards show has turned into a promotional opportunity for future films and three big ones will debut new footage tonight.
Chris Evans will be in the house to debut an all-new clip from Captain America: Civil War, the latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that early reviews are calling better than the previous two Avengers films. Will the clip feature Spider-Man? We can only hope.
Not to be outdone is representation from the DC Films universe in the form of the first clip from Suicide Squad. This little gem has the potential to outperform Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with its eclectic cast and we can’t wait to see some new footage.
Last but not least, Academy Awards-winner Eddie Redmayne is stopping by to unveil new footage from the Harry Potter prequel, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This could be our first look at one of the magical beasts that will appear in the film. It’s unknown whether we’ll get a clip or a full-blown trailer. My instinct says the latter.
The start time tonight for the 2016 MTV Movie Awards is 8/7c on obviously the MTV cable channel and can be live streamed here at MTV.com or via a variety of apps including Xbox One, Roku and Apple TV. The pre-show starts a half hour earlier at 7:30 pm EST.
