We thought we were getting a first trailer for the big screen adaptation of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark during the Super Bowl. Instead we got four clips — or more precisely, glimpses — into which stories will be featured in the film.
CBS Films put out a compilation trailer that splices all four glimpses together into a single 41-second trailer. Watch it below, and be cautious if you’re afraid of spiders.
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is based on the books written by Alvin Schwartz with creepy illustrations by Stephen Gammell. The film story is by Guillermo del Toro with his Trollhunters collaborators, Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman, providing the screenplay.
Though Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is not yet rated, the expected rating is PG-13.
Look for Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark in theaters this August.
