Tonight’s 2015 87th Academy Awards, otherwise known simply as the Oscars, has Neil Patrick Harris presiding over the grand finale of the awards season that will conclude with the top film taking home the Best Picture prize. Watch the Oscars online live streaming or on TV via ABC tonight at a start time of 7pm EST as the 2015 Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and other category winners will finally be revealed.
The big award tonight is in the Best Picture category and here are eight films vying for it, one less than last year. The nominees are American Sniper, Birdman, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, Selma, The Theory of Everything, and Whiplash.
Best Director usually goes hand in hand with Best Picture and this year’s five nominees save for one are right on point. They include Alejandro G. Inarritu (Birdman), Richard Linklater (Boyhood), Bennett Miller (Foxcatcher), Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel), and Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game).
ABC will once again offer Academy Awards 2015 online free live streaming via the Watch ABC app on tablets, smart phones and other mobile Internet connected devices through Dish Network, DirecTV, Cox Communications, Verizon FiOS, Google Fiber, and other big providers. The catch is that you will need a satellite or cable provider in order to watch the Oscars live stream, and ABC is not offering an alternative means for cord cutters to buy the Oscars this evening a-la-carte.
Those on the Internet via computers and laptops can also tune into the Oscars at the official Watch ABC live online streaming free website that also requires a provider login. This access is not available everywhere so you will need to check here to make sure you can see it where you live.
