Do you want to go? At New York Comic-Con today, Disney released the first Tomorrowland teaser trailer from director Brad Bird that offers a peek at a secret world accessible by a mysterious pin, and that trailer was quickly posted online for the world to see. Disney pins will consequently see an uptick in sales from this day forward.
The Tomorrowland teaser trailer introduces Britt Robertson (CBS’ Under the Dome) as Casey Newton, a troubled young girl collecting her belongings after being incarcerated for an unknown period of time. As she scoops up her money and hat, she calls back to the corrections officer to tell him the pin among her stuff doesn’t belong to her. He doesn’t care, and so she tries to pick it up.
With a simple touch, the pin transports Casey to another world somewhere in another time and place. This world is full of wonderment including futuristic designs and jet packs at the very least. It’s a stark contrast to the ailing world she briefly left behind as evidenced by the news broadcast playing on the TV at the corrections facility.
The trailer closes with George Clooney in his command center asking presumably Casey, but realistically all of us, whether we want to go while more doom and gloom imagery plays on monitors behind him.
Here’s the official Tomorrowland synopsis:
