We already knew the next Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer is set to drop sometime on Thursday during the 2016 Rio Olympics coverage on NBC. Before it does, Disney and Lucasfilm wanted to share a little tease of the trailer to whet your appetite.
The Star Wars: Rogue One trailer tease starts with the money shot of a U-Wing fighter, the new Rebel troop transport ship featured in the film, taking off from Yavin base. It’s a fantastic shot that also includes several X-Wings parked in the background, awaiting their destiny of eventually attacking the Death Star.
K-2SO makes a brief appearance in the tease as well. We’ve yet to hear this former enforcer droid that has been reprogrammed for the Rebellion’s purpose speak. Seeing as how Alan Tudyk provides the voice you can safely expect this droid has quite a bit to say.
The new Star Wars: Rogue One trailer is most likely to drop on Thursday evening during NBC’s primetime Olympics coverage that will include Women’s Gymnastics. It will then quickly make its way online for endless repeat viewings.
