Star Wars: Rogue One Tickets on Sale; TV Spot Reveals Iconic Villain

History repeated itself today as advance tickets for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story went on sale and the Fandango website crashed under the weight of fans rushing to secure their preferred showtimes.

This same event happened a year ago when tickets for Star Wars: The Force Awakens went up for sale. Fandango’s website struggled to keep up with the demand and was up and down for a good bit of time.

While new Star Wars: Rogue One trailers may be done, Lucasfilm and Disney have delivered a new TV spots titled ‘Breath’ to coincide with ticket sales opening up. It doesn’t take a Star Wars junkie to realize the word “breath” is connected to Darth Vader before even clicking the TV spot below.

There are a handful of brief new shots in the TV spot with the most notable coming in the beginning. We get a different view of the Death Star dish being put into place, this time from presumably the bridge of a Star Destroyer. Just in the front of the camera is what appears to be the blurred back of none other than Grand Moff Tarkin.

Rumors circulated during the production of Star Wars: Rogue One suggesting ILM would be digitally recreating Tarkin based on the late Peter Cushing’s appearance as the doomed villain from Star Wars: A New Hope. It’s hard to imagine a movie featuring the construction of the Death Star not having the man that Vader says, “don’t be too proud of this technological terror you’ve constructed.”

The big question is how much will Tarkin be featured in Rogue One? I’m hoping for quite a bit.
