Meet Nova in Lovely ‘War for the Planet of the Apes’ Clips Montage

Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his fellow apes find more than he bargained for in the form of an orphaned girl, Nova (Amiah Miller), in Matt Reeves’ upcoming War for the Planet of the Apes sequel film.

The latest new footage released by Fox from the third modern Apes movie focuses exclusively on Nova and her evolving relationship with Caesar, Maurice and the other apes. There’s a strong The Last of Us and Logan vibe as Caesar eventually plays the role of a surrogate parent to the human child with nowhere to go.

The work by Serkis as Caesar in potentially the character’s final film is nothing short of extraordinary in these short clips. The emotion Caesar presents without dialogue is palpable, while his evolved voice and language is audibly scarred by a tumultuous past.

Watch the roughly 2:30 ‘Meeting Nova’ clips montage below and look for War for the Planet of the Apes in theaters on July 14th.
