Scores of The Hunger Games fans helped to unlock an all-new The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 on social media yesterday that sets the tone for the brewing rebellion that will take hold in the third of four planned films based on the popular Suzanne Collins books.
The latest Mockingjay trailer pays sole attention to Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) as she makes her way from a secret location to her former home in District 12. Upon arrival, Katniss is met with death and destruction as President Snow has laid waste to the District and seemingly left no survivors.
Katniss makes her way to her home and finds, among other personal effects including a photograph of her father, a single white rose. Book readers will know the significance of that rose and who deliberately left it behind.
The marketing purpose for this new trailer is to promote the launch of ticket pre-sales that will commence on October 29. Expect opening night tickets to sellout within 24 hours of availability, if not within a couple hours or less.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 release date is now only a little over a month away on November 21.
