Final Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer Exposes a Robotic Vision

Final Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer

Yesterday the Internet assembled and unlocked the final Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer after Marvel issued a “share” challenge on social media. Considering how much hype is behind the likely $1 billion-plus film it didn’t take long for the goal to be reached and the trailer to finally make its way into the public domain.

More so than the previous trailers, this final Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer from director Joss Whedon paints a bleak picture for Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). There are hints that someone will not survive, and there’s one man everyone is pointing a finger at to blame.

The film’s robotic villain, Ultron, was conceived by Tony Stark as part of a plan to have the world policed by artificial intelligence so that he and his Avengers mates could kick back and effectively retire from their superhero duties. Ultron becomes self aware, determines humans are the problem, and promises to eradicate them from the face of the earth.

If you pay close attention to this new Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer you’ll notice the allegiance of Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) shifts over the course of the film. The duo are seen alongside Ultron in multiple shots and fighting against the Avengers, then in the presumed final battle can be seen fighting the Ultron drones alongside the Avengers.

Scarlet Witch is especially a standout as she uses her powers to try to destroy the Avengers from the inside-out. This means controlling their thoughts and minds and forcing them to face their greatest fears.

Where the final Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer ultimately shines is in the final shot of a robotic Vision (Paul Bettany) opening his eyes and coming to life. Marvel has deliberately kept this new character shrouded in mystery and now — finally — we have a decent look as his meticulously detailed face.

Avengers: Age of Ultron will be here before you know it when the film arrives in theaters on May 1, 2015.
