Life can be lonely as a singing volcano and island unto oneself. Leave it to Pixar to bring this unlikely scenario to life as only their master storytellers and artists can.
Disney has released the first clip from Pixar’s Lava, a new animated short that will debut next June in front of Pixar’s Inside Out. The roughly 30-second clip introduces a volcano who sings a musical love story that transpires over the course of millions of years. He wants us to “send me someone to lava” as a ukulele plays out heartwarming chords.
Lava is directed by James Ford Murphy and produced by Andrea Warren. You’ll get the watch the full short on June 19 and the teaser clip immediately in the player below.
