We have already seen a behind-the-scenes image of Henry Cavill in presumably his Clark Kent getup for Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. As production has rolled on in Michigan, we have seen nothing relating to Superman or Batman other than the first official image of Ben Affleck’s Batman standing next to his batmobile.
With Comic-Con around the corner, Warner Bros. has released the first official image of Henry Cavill as Superman from the film. The suit is brand new, but it looks remarkably like the one from Man of Steel, which really shouldn’t come as a surprise.
More interesting than the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Superman suit design is where Superman happens to be hanging out. The dark, gloomy setting, the rain and urban skyline behind him suggest that Supes is standing on a rooftop of Gotham City and not Metropolis. Snyder has already confirmed that Superman will be paying Gotham City at least one visit during the course of the film.
The prevalent theory heading into Comic-Con later this month is that Warner Bros. and Snyder will reveal Superman (Cavill), Batman (Affleck) and Wonder Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) together — in costume — for the first time. A Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer teaser could also be shown, but it would likely be brief and relatively devoid of visual effects unless Warner Bros. had planned far in advance specifically for Comic-Con.
