Ant-Man Trailer Tease Blown Up to Human Size

The first trailer for Marvel’s Ant-Man movie is scheduled to debut during the two-hour premiere of Marvel’s Agent Carter TV series on ABC tomorrow night. As expected Marvel offered a short Ant-Man trailer tease just ahead of the full reveal, but they tapped into the film’s premise of shrinking and enlarging to share the film’s first public footage.

The first version of the Ant-Man trailer tease was literally designed to appeal to ants. Marvel calls it an “ant-sized” look at the first footage and not even a magnifying glass would do anyone much good in trying to figure out what was on display.

Here’s the Ant-Man “ant-sized” trailer tease in all its microscopic glory.

I was thinking that Marvel would let us try to examine this minuscule imagery right up until the big premiere during Agent Carter.  Apparently that was never the plan as the following “human-sized” version of the Ant-Man trailer tease was delivered over the weekend.

In the few brief shots we are introduced to Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, and Corey Stoll as Darren Cross. Take note of Lilly’s hair which clearly indicates she is on a path to become the Avenger Wasp. Whether that happens in this film or not remains to be seen.

Ant-Man hits theaters on July 17, 2015 and wraps up Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Catch the full Ant-Man trailer during Marvel’s Agent Carter two-hour premiere starring Hayley Atwell on Tuesday night at 8/7c on ABC.
