The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D Coming to 3DS: See the Trailer

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3DS rumors that sprung up over the past couple months were confirmed yesterday with the formal announcement of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D for the handheld console during Nintendo’s latest Nintendo Direct.

As with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D before it, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D is being ported from Nintendo 64 to 3DS with enhanced visuals and what are being dubbed as “added features for a smoother game experience.” You’ll see one of those enhancements in the reveal trailer below with the introduction of a much sinister looking moon. Overall the graphics are all-around cleaner and more refined than their N64 predecessor.

Nintendo has narrowed down the launch window for The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D to spring, 2015, which will put it in stores between March and May of next year. A price point of either $29.95 or $39.95 seems reasonable.

Note that no amiibo support for The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D was mentioned during the game reveal, despite amiibo functionality coming to 3DS next year.

Here’s a small collection of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D screenshots, followed by The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3DS trailer where the screens were taken from.
