The Rise Against the Empire Play Set for Disney Infinity 3.0 is the original Star Wars trilogy gaming experience fans have been looking forward to most. Unfortunately new intelligence gathered at E3 this past week indicates that the Play Set will be coming a little later than originally anticipated.
According to our Disney Interactive rep, the Disney Infinity 3.0 Rise Against the Empire Play Set release date will not align with the Disney Infinity 3.0 Starter Pack release date. Disney Interactive have not revealed a Starter Pack release date though retail leaks suggest a mid-to-late August arrival. That will put Disney Infinity 3.0 on store shelves against its Toys to Life competition in Skylanders SuperChargers and LEGO Dimensions.
The estimated Disney Infinity 3.0 Rise Against the Empire Play Set release date is roughly one month after the Starter Pack arrives. That would put the coveted Original Trilogy Play Set on store shelves the same week in late September that the competition releases their Starter Packs, a cunning marketing move in the increasingly competitive Toys to Life category.
We still believe that the single pack Disney Infinity 3.0 Star Wars figures associated with this Play Set including Han Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and the timed PlayStation exclusive Boba Fett will still be available alongside the Starter Pack in August. Each figure will be playable in the Twilight of the Republic Play Set.
