‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Delayed for PS4 and Xbox One; New Screens Released

Christmas got a little more boring this year with news from Rockstar Games that Red Dead Redemption 2 has been delayed out of this year and into Spring 2018.

We were all looking forward to firing up the long-awaited sequel on either PlayStation 4 Pro or Xbox Project Scorpio before the calendar turned. As it often goes with high profile and highly complex games, delays are nearly inevitable so wait for the payoff we must.

Here’s what Rockstar had to say about the unfortunate Red Dead Redemption 2 delay:

“This outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans. We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer.” – Rockstar Games

We still don’t know definitively whether or not Red Dead Redemption 2 will have any sort of presence at E3. Given their “summer” time frame for more details and E3 absence for several years, the answer is pretty obvious.

But hey, we do get a series of gorgeous new Red Dead Redemption 2 screenshots for the inconvenience. The first is above, another below, and the rest over at Rockstar.
