The Original Star Wars Trilogy is the benefactor of not one but two videogames this upcoming holiday season. Don’t be confused when comparing or judging Disney Infinity 3.0 and Star Wars Battlefront. Though they share some of the same settings and characters, these games are geared toward different audiences and only those willing to enjoy both play styles will get the full experience.
Today Disney Interactive shed a little more light on the Original Star Wars Trilogy portion of Disney Infinity 3.0, all of which is packed into the Disney Infinity 3.0 Rise Against the Empire Play Set. Players will get to traverse through the major events of Episodes IV-VI as Luke Skywalker embraces his destiny and helps topple Darth Vader and his Emperor.
A total of 15 screenshots released today are loaded with memorable scenes and settings from the Original Trilogy. There’s the fateful meeting between Han Solo and Greedo in the Mos Eisley Cantina. How about the Denizens of Jabba the Hutt’s court. Or, befitting a creatively-driven game, a shot of Luke Skywalker looking over a Tatooine setting we’re not yet familiar with.
Being the target audience for Disney Infinity 3.0 skews younger there are of course red caps on the stormtrooper blasters and enemies will break apart like models rather than slump over lifelessly. Honestly who cares when we finally get a videogame rendition of the Battle of Hoth and get to ride around on a bantha?
Disney Interactive also passed along the cleanest images yet of the five figures compatible with the Rise Against the Empire Play Set.
