Nintendo Announces Marth Amiibo Returning to Stores in North America Next Month

North American amiibo collectors, Nintendo of America is starting to listen to your cries of injustice regarding the availability of select amiibo  character figures and is finally take a first step toward rectifying the ongoing problem.

Nintendo today followed up on a promise during the last Nintendo Direct that more Marth amiibo would be coming later this year. Per a tweet sent by Nintendo of America earlier today, “later this year” is actually late April, and that means more Marth amiibo will arrive in stores in less than two months time.

Marth is considered one of the amiibo “holy trinity” from wave 1 that also includes Villager and Wii Fit Trainer. His was shipped exactly once to coincide with the initial amiibo launch, and even then his numbers were so sparse compared to his amiibo brothers that most were gone the same day they were available.

Marth is one of four amiibo from the Fire Emblem game series that is compatible with the upcoming 3DS game, Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. This compatibility is what has triggered Nintendo of America to ship him again, though in what numbers we do not know.

Note that Marth’s late April time frame coincides with the anticipated debut of amiibo wave 4 including Lucina and Robin, two other Fire Emblem amiibo. Marth will likely be included in this wave’s case along with potentially other previously released amiibo. Who knows? Maybe the likes of Little Mac, Pit and other rare amiibo will return before too long.
