This is a big year for the EA Sports NHL video game franchise with NHL 15 marking the first iteration to appear on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You won’t have to wait until September to play the game as EA Sports has announced the NHL 15 demo release date on PS4 and Xbox One is this upcoming Tuesday, August 26.
As with most sports game demos, the NHL 15 playable sneak peek will let you play as either of last year’s finalists: the New York Rangers or the Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings. The game will consist of three two-minute periods on either rookie, pro or all-star difficulties; can take place at either Madison Square Garden or the Staples Center; and offers a sampling of the new camera angles for this year’s version: Dynamic Low, Dynamic Medium, and Dynamic High.
An optional demo mode pitting a single skater against a goalie is offered to allow players to grow accustomed to the Superstar Skill Stick.
The NHL 15 demo is absolutely free so be sure to download it this Tuesday if for nothing else than to see how well the promoted 9,000 individual crowd models look in real-time.
The full NHL 15 game for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 9. It is currently available for pre-order with free shipping at Amazon.com.
