NetherRealm is planning an ambitious story for Mortal Kombat X that will push the narrative 25 year beyond the event of Mortal Kombat from three years ago. A host of new characters will be introduced as the next generation of fighters makes a grand entrance to take on a futuristic threat.
New characters to the Mortal Kombat legacy and ready to brawl are Jacqueline Briggs, daughter of Jax; Takashi Takeda, son of Kenshi; and Kung Jin, descendant of Kung Lao. This new group of fighters will be up against Mileena and her Outworld rebel army that is up to no good.
You get to meet these new characters in the lengthy Mortal Kombat X Who’s Next? trailer that walks through the basic story elements and then throws in some snippets of fighting at the end. The complete Mortal Kombat X fighter roster is still unknown though the trailer offers up some interesting possibilities such as Shinnok.
Mortal Kombat X comes to Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC on April 14, 2015.
