Electronic Arts has officially confirmed and announced the existence of a Mirror’s Edge Catalyst for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Origin for PC that will drop sometimes before the game’s May 24th release date.
Signing up for the Mirror’s Edge Catalyst closed beta will require an EA account and visiting this beta registration website. Note that by signing up you are not guaranteed a slot in the closed beta, but at the very least your name will be tossed into a hat of unknown size. No gameplay progress, achievements, character data or anything else earned in the beta will transfer to the full retail game once released.
EA promises that the next few months will start to peel back the secrecy surrounding this hotly anticipated sequel and as a sign of good faith to help announce the closed beta, they’ve released a Faith story trailer that will bring back memories for anyone who enjoyed the original Mirror’s Edge.
Note that most of the latest Mirror’s Edge Catalyst trailer is comprised of cut scenes taken from the in-game image, but there are some gameplay shots stitched in of Faith reminding us that she’s the ultimate video game parkour heroine.
