The LEGO Dimensions game and accompanying toy line expanded today with the official release of LEGO Dimensions wave 2. Several brands are represented in this latest offering of LEGO Dimensions expansion toys including the big Dr Who Level Pack, and additions to Ninjago and The Simpsons.
The Dr Who Level Pack includes buildable 12th Doctor LEGO minifigure, TARDIS and K-9 toys, all of which are playable in the game. With the 12th Doctor you can unlock playable versions of 11 other Doctors for the ultimate Dr Who experience.
Titled ‘The Dalek Extermination of Earth,’ the Dr Who Level Pack official synopsis reads, “The Doctor must prevent the Daleks from taking over London by travelling through time and space and even to the furthest extents of the galaxy. Equipped with his TARDIS, he is able to navigate the passageways of time and space to solve mysteries and avert hostile alien invasions. Players can activate the Doctor’s special Hacking, Technology, Fix-it and Doctor Regenerate option to help him solve in-game puzzles and defeat menacing enemies.”
Other new LEGO Dimensions toys hitting stores today include the LEGO Ninjago Team Pack with Kai, Cole, rebuildable Cole’s Builder Bomber and Kai’s Blade Bike; The Simpsons Fun Packs with Bart Simpson and Krusty the Clown; and The LEGO Movie Fun Pack with the Unikitty LEGO minifigure and Cloud Cuckoo Car.

Warner Interactive Entertainment also announced today a new Hire-A-Hero feature being added to LEGO Dimensions. This feature will allow players to use studs collected in-game to temporarily unlock wave 1 expansion minifigures in order to solve puzzles. Think of it as a “try before you buy” promotion that will be updated in the future so you can try out wave 2 figures as well.
