Sega brought along a new Alien: Isolation trailer as part of their Gamescom 2014 presence in Cologne, Germany this year. As you’ll see in the all-CGI trailer below, the video game has been designed to evoke the same emotions of terror and fear of the unknown that Ridley Scott’s original film did.
In the trailer dubbed “Improvise,” we meet Amanda Ripley, the grown daughter of Sigourney Weaver’s Ellen Ripley from the film franchise. Ripley first encountered the Alien creature 15 years prior and has since gone missing, so her brave daughter has set out to determine what happened to her mother.
Amanda is resourceful with gadgets and gizmos, as evidenced by her scooping up an old robot toy while scavenging the Nostromo for clues. Unfortunately for Amanda there’s an Alien on the loose and it’s got her in its sights. Quick thinking gets Amanda out of the bind, but she’s not out of the clear yet.
In another room, the robot’s power source is able to activate a motion tracker that Amanda has put together. The tool quickly picks up a massive signal that turns out to be right above Amanda’s head.
Alien: Isolation comes to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 and Windows PC on October 7.
