Last night a new Halo 5: Guardians teaser trailer leaked onto YouTube and was quickly yanked by Microsoft. It featured a gun firing a bullet in slow-motion that found its way into and exploded Master Chief’s helmet.
Not long after that, a Hunt the Truth tumblr page started promoting the video with a countdown clock on it. The website includes the same bullet on it with the word “Traitor” etched into its side. You can’t see the word in the video, but it’s clearly there on the tumblr page.
What we’re looking at is some kind of Halo 5: Guardians announcement occurring tomorrow, Sunday, at 6pm EST. It could be a new trailer, a new mode reveal, or something completely out of left field.
My instinct is that we’re about to get a new trailer that will also air during NCAA Tournament March Madness coverage on TV. The audience is perfect for the franchise and the timing of this countdown can’t be a coincidence.
