Microsoft’s 2017 E3 press conference is mere hours away and already some information is starting to leak about Xbox Project Scorpio, the centerpiece of today’s presentation.
Game Awards host Geoff Keighley took to Twitter and claimed “with confidence” that the price of Project Scorpio, or whatever the final name ends up being, will be $499.
That price falls on the high end of analyst estimates predicting between $399 and $499. The favored price from analysts was $399 so if $499 holds true then it’s 25 percent higher.
Keighley also confirmed that 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray support will be included with Project Scorpio, though stopped short of saying whether Dolby Vision HDR would also be supported. Newly added Dolby Atmos support for Xbox One S may signal that Dolby Vision support will be present out-of-the-box.
We’ll learn more about Xbox Project Scorpio, including a release and first-look at the console, during Microsoft’s E3 presser this afternoon at 5 pm EST / 2pm EST.

I can now say with confidence Project Scorpio is $499. Unless something changes today, that is what will be announced.
