A trio of hot video games will be featured at Disney’s D23 Expo 2015 next month with new information and visuals expected to be revealed for each during the big Hall D23 presentation taking place on Sunday, August 16.
Toys to Life fans of Disney Infinity 3.0 should expect not only some new figures to be revealed from a Galaxy Far, Far away. but at least one new Play Set as well. It might be too early for Disney Interactive to take the wraps off of the Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens Play Set so the odds are stronger that the next Marvel Play Set will be unveiled, and I’d expect no less than an Ant-Man Disney Infinity 3.0 figure to appear alongside it.
Here’s the official Disney Infinity 3.0 D23 experience in Disney’s words:
Players will join forces with Star Wars, Marvel, Disney and Disney•Pixar characters in Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition, the next chapter in the best-selling “hybrid toy / video game” series. Guests will have the chance to play some of the new Disney Infinity Play Sets, Star Wars Twilight of the Republic, Star Wars Rise Against the Empire and Disney•Pixar’s Inside Out, and the fully enhanced Toy Box mode. Pavilion guests will also be able to visit the “Only in the Toy Box” Experience. Using a new augmented reality technology, fans can step into a virtual Toy Box environment and interact alongside their favorite Disney, Disney•Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters found inside Disney Infinity. Disney Infinity will also be giving away thousands of pre-release Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition figures featuring popular characters from across The Walt Disney Company (while supplies last).
For Star Wars Battlefront, D23 attendees can expect to go hands-on with the game much like media and industry folks did at E3 this past June. EA is currently mum on what level(s) will be playable.
On the Kingdom Hearts III front, Square Enix is promising some surprise announcements and guests coming to Hall D23.
