Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Coming in 2017 From Vicarious Visions for PS4

This past weekend’s PlayStation Experience (PSX) delivered big news from Activision in the form of a furry orange hero making a big return in 2017.

Crash Bandicoot’s triumphant reemergence has officially dubbed the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and is being developed exclusively for PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro by Vicarious Visions, the development studio behind Skylanders Swap ForceSkylanders SuperChargers and the Crash Bandicoot Thumpin Wumpa Island level in Skylanders Imaginators.

This remaster/reimagining of Crash Bandicoot includes all three games: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot: Warped in one shiny package.

Rather than a straight-up remaster, Vicarious Visions has added new content and made tweaks to the originals including a unified save system and unified checkpoint system.

The remaster doesn’t stop with all-new visuals built almost entirely from the ground up. The entire game soundtrack has been remastered and all the dialogue re-recorded with original voice actors were appropriate, including Jess Harnell and Lex Lang.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy drops sometime in 2017, most likely in the first part of the year. Watch the reveal trailer with comparisons to the originals games below.
