Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Teaser Trailer Promotes Game Reveal Later This Month

How far are you willing to go? That’s the tag line Activision is promoting alongside the first Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 teaser trailer that dropped online a couple days ago. More importantly, the trailer ends by stating Activision will reveal Black Ops 3 properly on Sunday, April 24, or a little over two weeks from now.

The short, stylistic trailer has a definitive futuristic look to it as bits of data construct the outline of a soldier. If rumors pan out correctly, there will be a lot more to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 than another romp through the future ala Advanced Wafare.

Rumors suggest that Black Ops III will introduce time travel into the bestselling franchise for the first time. If true, this would open the door for the franchise to return to its roots in World War II or any other historical period, as well as far into the future. The possibilities are quite endless.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be developer Treyarch’s first game in the new three-year development cycle that Activision has implemented for the franchise. Expectations run high, and the studio that brought zombies into CoD is under immense pressure to deliver.

It’s a foregone conclusion that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be available for PS4, Xbox One and PC. I would expect PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to be released as well given those consoles still have large active install bases, though they certainly aren’t a given.
