With Comic-Con now only a few days away, Activision has teased their first new Skylanders SuperChargers announcement since E3 nearly a month ago. Unless the blatantly obvious clues represent misdirection of the highest magnitude, we stand on the verge of glimpsing the Skylanders SuperChargers Dark Edition in less than 24 hours from now.
The teases came from a combination of the official Skylanders Twitter and Facebook accounts. The Twitter tease shows a figure hiding underneath a sheet that appears to be Kaos, albeit with a reverse color scheme on this face.
Will Kaos be a new figure in the Dark Edition? Doubtful as the Dark Editions are always repaints and there’s no logical reason for a Portal Master like Kaos to appear in figure form at this time. Kaos is “dark” by nature and his appearance is likely only to reinforce the imminent Skylanders SuperChargers Dark Edition announcement.

The second image via Facebook is a bit more intriguing as it clearly depicts a pair of vehicles under covers. The Skylanders SuperChargers Starter Pack only comes with one vehicle: Hot Streak. However, the Wii and 3DS version comes with Nintendo’s Bowser’s Clown Cruiser and the Wii U version comes with Donkey Kong’s Barrel Blaster vehicle.
History tells us that the Dark Editions do appear for the Nintendo Wii U and Wii Starter Packs, so we could be looking at Dark Bowser and Dark Donkey Kong figures and vehicles.
