For the second weekend in a row, three new films will burst onto the scene in hopes of cutting into the Christmas holdovers James Cameron’s Avatar, Sherlock Holmes and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.
Warner Bros. has put their stock into Denzel Washington and The Book of Eli. Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones will finally see a wide release while Jackie Chan lowers his target audience’s age with The Spy Next Door.
The object of this game is to guess the final domestic box office dollars in millions for five films. Your prediction is averaged in with the other players for a cumulative score to compete against the Prophet predictions (view main game page and leaderboards).
Should the average player differences between the actual box office gross and predicted grosses beat the Prophet for 3 or more of the 5 films, the top player will win a prize. This week that prize is Whiteout on DVD or Blu-ray. Because the Prophet won last week, the prize of Post Grad on Blu-ray or DVD rolls forward into this week.
Once you are logged in, the average player scores will update in real time below as new predictions are entered. The entry period will close the evening of Thursday, January 14 with a recap and final box office numbers on Monday evening.
