‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation’ Blu-ray Gets Release Date and Details

Scream Factory has locked in a December 11th release date for Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation on Blu-ray in a spiffy collector’s edition package.

This release marks the North American debut for Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation on Blu-ray. You’ll notice that stars Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey are nowhere to be found on the cover. That was a legal mandate that forced the original release date of September 25th to be pushed back more than once.

For the franchise’s fourth film’s debut, Scream Factory is including the 87-minute theatrical cut and 93-minute director’s cut. The only caveat is the additional footage being inserted back into the film will be in standard definition. On the flip side that means it will be easy to pick out.

A quartet of new bonus features will be included alongside some legacy extras. The complete rundown is as follows:

  • NEW Audio Commentary with writer/director Kim Henkel (on Director’s Cut)
  • NEW The Buzz is Back – an interview with Director of Photography Levie Isaacks
  • NEW Marked for Death – an interview with actor Tyler Shea Cone
  • NEW If Looks Could Kill: The Return of a “Chainsaw Massacre” – an interview with special makeup effects artist J.M. Logan and production designer Deborah Pastor
  • Still Gallery
  • Theatrical Trailer
