Rob Reiner’s coming-of-age classic drama Stand by Me starring Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, Jerry O’Connell, and Kiefer Sutherland will make its 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray debut on August 27th.
Sony has scanned Stand by Me in 4K from the original camera negative with HDR for added pop. In addition, an all-new Dolby Atmos audio mix is included along with the the original theatrical mono audio and the 5.1 remix.
New for this 4K release and present on the 4K disc are an unknown number of never-before-seen deleted and alternate scenes.
