It has been over a month since Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse began racking up rave reviews at the box office. Next up for the Golden Globe-winner for Best Animated Motion Picture and Oscars front-runner for the same award is a highly anticipated home video release.
Multiple retailers have published a March 19th release date for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD. Sony has not officially announced or confirmed that date, but all indications points toward it panning out.
The Digital HD release could drop as soon as February 26th, especially if Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse wins the Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature Film as it is expected to. Sony would want to take advantage of the Oscars buzz. We don’t expect it to arrive any earlier than that.
If you seen the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse preview clip on the Venom 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release then you know the animation is absolutely spectacular in 4K. It’s about as must-own for 4K TV owners as releases come.
Amazon is already taking pre-orders for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse on 4K, Blu-ray and Digital. With that pre-order listing comes cover art, but it’s too early to know for certain if the artwork is final. Check it out below.
