Director Edward Zwick’s Civil War epic Glory is making its 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray debut on July 30th courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
Glory stars Matthew Broderick, Denzel Washington, Cary Elwes and Morgan Freeman in the story of the U.S. Civil War’s first all-black volunteer company — known as the 54th Massachusetts Regiment. The film was nominated for five Academy Awards and helped Denzel Washington score his first win for Best Actor.
Glory also won a Best Cinematography Oscar, so what better way to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary this year with a new 4K resolution scan with HDR from the original camera negative. Sony has also mixed a new Dolby Atmos audio track for Glory’s 4K UHD debut.
Here’s a breakdown of all the bonus features carrying forward to the Glory 4K release:
- Director’s Commentary

- “The Voices of Glory” Featurette
