HBO has eliminated any doubt as to whether the Game of Thrones Steelbook line would continue following the release of Season 1 and 2 by formally announcing the Season 3 and 4 Steelbook Blu-rays are coming to stores this June.
The Game of Thrones Seasons 3 and 4 Steelbook Blu-rays will be housed in Collector’s Edition packaging inspired by the show’s award-winning opening credits and designed by the same company, Elastic, responsible for those credits. Each package contains a magnetic sigil that holds it together. Specifically, Season 3 includes the House Frey sigil referencing the Twin Towers for obvious reasons, while Season 4 features a crow and Jon Snow’s sword to represent The Wall.
As with the first two seasons on Blu-ray, Season 3 and 4 will be presented in Dolby Atmos audio and additionally include all 10 episodes on Digital HD as an added bonus. Extra features are identical to the previously released Blu-ray season sets.
HBO has priced Season 3 and 4 of Game of Thrones on Blu-ray and Digital in collectible Steelbook packaging at an SRP of $79.99. The release date is June 7th, 2016.
