The merc with a mouth aka Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool is laughing all the way to the box office bank as he prepares for a second weekend of dominance following a $260 million worldwide opening week debut. That box office success is already carrying over to home video where the Deadpool Blu-ray pre-order is racking up sales.
Currently the Deadpool Blu-ray and Digital HD combo pack sits in the number four position on Amazon.com’s Blu-ray bestsellers chart. Titles in front of it are an X-Men combo package on sale in the top slot, some space movie called Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and the recently released James Bond sequel Spectre.
I expect Spectre to slowly fade out of the top five and Deadpool pre-orders to pick up steam as the mouthy R-rated superhero gains additional fans. What will be really interesting to watch is if Deadpool can surpass the juggernaut Star Wars: The Force Awakens in the rankings. The irony in that happening is Deadpool is a Fox property and Star Wars used to be a Fox property.
Pre-order Deadpool on Blu-ray if you haven’t joined the masses yet, and expect it to arrive on Blu-ray, Digital HD and even DVD in May at the earliest.
