The incredible and inspirational story of Joyce Smith and her son’s miracle is coming to home video this July.
Fox Home Entertainment has announced plans to bring Breakthrough to Digital on July 2nd. A Breakthrough 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD versions are slated for a July 16th release.
Breakthrough is based on Joyce’s book The Impossible that is based on her own story of what happened in January 2015. Her adopted son, John, had fallen through thin ice and remained underwater for approximately 15 minutes.
Doctors were ready to declare John (Marcel Ruiz) dead after 43 minutes without a heartbeat, but Joyce (Chrissy Metz) continued praying and he was resuscitated after 45 minutes. In short it was a medical miracle, and Joyce maintains it was an act of God.
