Several studios made new Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD announcements today starting with Paramount’s Wall Street drama The Big Short starring Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt. Director Adam McKay’s Academy Award-nominated film gets a simultaneous Blu-ray, DVD and Digital release date of March 15th with DTS:X audio. Over an hour’s worth of bonus features include: In the Tranches: Casting, The Big Leap: Adam McKay, Unlikely Heroes: The Characters of The Big Short, The House of Cards: The Rise of the Fall, Getting Real: Recreating an Era, and Deleted Scenes.
Speaking of Academy Award nominations, the love story Brooklyn starring Saoirse Ronan, Domhnall Gleeson and Emory Cohen nabbed three and will also arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on March 15th with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. The Digital HD version gets an early release on February 23rd. Fox’s bonus features include: 11 Deleted and Extended Scenes with Optional Director’s Commentary, Six promotional featurettes (The Story, Home, Love, Cast, The Making of Brooklyn, Book to Screen), Audio commentary by director John Crowley, and a Photo gallery.
Lionsgate has targeted February 23rd as the release date for the action-thriller and direct-to-video premiere of Misconduct starring Josh Duhamel, Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins. Audio is spec’d at 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio while bonus features include “The Making of Misconduct” Featurette and Deleted Scenes.
Earlier today, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment announced Concussion is not only coming to Blu-ray, DVD and Digital, but 4K Ultra HD as well.
