4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Arrives Today But Samsung Players Scarce

Today’s a big day for home entertainment as 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray formally makes its debut with 23 launch titles from Sony, Fox, Lionsgate and Warner Bros. arriving in stores. You may be out of luck if you waited until the last minute to pick up a Samsung UBD-K8500 4K UHD Blu-ray player.

I’ve been tracking the lone 4K UHD Blu-ray Player at Amazon.com since Friday and despite numerous checks it was listed as out of stock. Checks at BestBuy.com yielded the same results. By making the 4K UHD Blu-ray player available ahead of time, stores are finding themselves with bare shelves on the actual launch date when 4K UHD Blu-ray movies debut.

Sometime late last night Amazon had the Samsung 4K UHD Blu-ray Player in stock and then back out of stock it went. This morning, on the launch day, it is listed as “temporarily out of stock” meaning you can place your order right now and there’s a chance it will still ship today or shortly thereafter.

Grab a Samsung 4K UHD Player at Amazon.com while you can.

Here’s the complete list of all 23 4K UHD Blu-ray launch titles, all of which are available at major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Fry’s Electronics, etc.
