Today Angry Birds Star Wars launched their attack on every imaginable current generation gaming console. Not content with the likes of Xbox 360 and PS Vita, the Angry Birds with a flair for the dramatic have set their sights on next-generation machines and plotted a course in their navicomputers.
Activision has announced that Angry Birds Star Wars is coming to Microsoft’s Xbox One and Sony’s PlayStation 4 next generation consoles and will be available to purchase on each console’s respective launch dates (November 15 for PS4 and November 22 for Xbox One) at a price of $49.99. The PS4 version will include support for Sony’s new DualShock 4 controller’s touchpad for “precision, touch-screen handling.” The same feature will be available for PlayStation Move. Xbox One will feature motion and voice controls via the new Kinect 2.0, and both versions will allow for screen capture and video sharing online.
When it comes to unique content, Xbox One has the edge with exclusive timed challenges that won’t be found on the PS4 version.
It looks like Angry Birds Star Wars have more to offer on next-gen consoles than being a straight-up port. That can only be a good thing.
