Paramount has released the first trailer for Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit only a day after Tom Clancy, the author that created the characters in which the film is based, passed away.
The upcoming political thriller puts Chris Pine (Star Trek Into Darkness) into the role of CIA analyst Jack Ryan, the same character portrayed by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck in previous film incarnations of Clancy’s Jack Ryan thrillers. Pine represents a younger version of the character and a chance to build a new franchise around the analyst whose intelligence always ends up putting him in the thick of the action.
Kenneth Branagh directs Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit based on a script by Adam Cozad and David Koepp, the writing team behind War of the Worlds and Mission: Impossible. Joining Pine in the film are Kevin Costner and Keira Knightley.
Paramount has currently tapped December 25 to open Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. However, rumors are circulating that the film will be pushed to January 17 and there is no definitive release date attached to the first Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit trailer and one-sheet movie poster, ready to be watched and seen below.
