Activision and Infinity Ward have aimed high once again for the Call of Duty: Ghosts Prestige Edition, packing in some serious hardware for the most dedicated CoD players. The Call of Duty: Ghosts Hardened Edition, also available for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 isn’t too shabby, either, containing almost everything the more expensive Prestige Edition does.
The Call of Duty: Ghosts Prestige Edition is now confirmed to include the game in a collectible steelbook; a paracord strap; the DLC Season Pass that entitles its owner to all four DLC packs that will be released throughout the end of 2013 and well into 2014; the Free Fall dynamic bonus map; digital content including a player patch, player card, player background and official soundtrack; and the lone exclusive to the Prestige edition, a Tactical Camera.
The Tactical Camera is a full 1080p resolution camera that is designed to look like the same helmet-mounted camera in the game. It is completely water resistant and is wide-angle mounted. As Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg explained during today’s Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer reveal event, the Tactical Camera is the “real deal” and not some cheap knockoff. I would expect paintballers and peeping toms to be all over this thing.

The other collector’s edition set, the Call of Duty: Hardened Edition, is identical to the Prestige Edition except it doesn’t include the Tactical Camera. That means that the DLC Season Pass has indeed returned to the Hardened Edition.

All current generation editions of Call of Duty: Ghosts including Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC will be shipping on November 5. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 editions will not be released until those consoles launch or shortly thereafter. I would expect the next-gen versions to be available by early December at the latest.
