Disney Channel’s Boy Meets World combination sequel and spin-off pilot Girl Meets World has gained a big league fan favorite that goes by the name of Mr. Feeny.
Earlier this week a picture appeared online via Maitland Ward’s Instagram account that showed William Daniels, the actor who played Mr. Feeny on Boy Meets World, on the pilot set of Girl Meets World. It was never announced, much less confirmed, that Daniels had been cast in the pilot. His presence was initially written off as a set visit, but that train of thought is no longer valid.
According to TV Line’s sources, they have confirmed that Daniels was on the set to film a scene or more for the Girl Meets World pilot. Fans of the original Boy Meets World series can now throw up their arms and rejoice at another familiar face joining the new potential series.
Daniels was photographed on a set that resembles a classroom setting. The obvious conclusion is that he’s moved on to become principal and is now the boss of teacher Corey (Ben Savage) and overseeing the school with Corey’s kids in attendance, including Riley (Rowan Blanchard). Or, Mr. Feeny could be a member of a higher power school board and only make a cameo appearance every now and then should the pilot get picked up to series.
At this point everything is speculation as Disney Channel has made no official announcements regarding the position of Mr. Feeny.
Will Friedle and Rider Strong from Boy Meets World were also spotted on set but their presence was truly to visit only and they will not be appearing in the Girl Meets World pilot according to the same sources.
