Skyrim Heathfire DLC Announced for Xbox 360; Still No Dawnguard for PS3

Skyrim Heathfire DLC Announced; Still No Dawnguard for PS3Bethesda Softworks have confirmed Hearthfire is the next DLC addition coming to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It will be available next week on September 4 to Xbox 360 owners at a cost of 400 Microsoft Points.

Hearthfire is designed to let you purchase land and build a home from scratch on it. That home can then be built up to include an armory, alchemy lab and more, to the point where you will need to guard it from intruders and fill it to the brim with adopted children.

Now the bad news. While Xbox 360 Skyrim players have new DLC to look forward to next week, PS3 owners still don’t have access to the last DLC pack, Dawnguard, much less Hearthfire. Bethesda’s PR spokesperson and VP, Pete Hines, chimed in on Twitter today to address the issue by stating, “We are working on multiple projects, even beyond those two things. The entire team doesn’t work on one thing at a time.”

Without being specific, Hines is basically saying that PS3 versions of Dawnguard and Hearthfire *could* be in the works because their team tackles more than one game or project at a time.

His vagueness, which is typical of Bethesda, is neither a promise or confirmation that PS3 owner will ever get these DLC packs. It could even unintentionally be telling us that Bethesda’s developers are stretched thin and until their load is lightened, there’s no way they can get to Dawnguard and Hearthfire for PS3.

I would think Bethesda would be thrilled to let everyone know if they were actively working on the DLC packs for PS3 without being cryptic in their messaging.
