Earlier today a new patch went live for Call of Duty: Black Ops and there are scattered reports of it wreaking havoc on older Playstation 3 consoles.
The reports were assembled from Dutch website PS3 Sense who cobbled together their findings from various forums including Sony’s own. All the reports share the same common denominator: the affected parties are playing Black Ops on the original pre-Slim PS3 console.
Neither Activision nor Treyarch have yet to address the issue and I’ll be sure to pass along any updates should they surface. In the meantime if you’ve playing Black Ops on an older PS3 console then you might want to think twice before downloading the update.
