Kinect Sales Soaring with 1 Million Already Moved

Kinect sales have reached the 1 million mark a mere 10 days after the motion control accessory for Xbox 360 hit stores. Those sales are derived from a combination of standalone Kinect sensors packaged with Kinect Adventures and a pair of Kinect and Xbox 360 bundles.

Microsoft is naturally ecstatic about Kinect’s success thus far and maintains they are on track to reach their lofty estimate of 5 million units sold by year’s end. The holiday shopping season should continue to spur Kinect sales as there is little competition in the form of “must have” new gaming devices this year from competitors Nintendo and Sony.

Kinect is currently available in North America and Europe. It will be available in Asia and Japan within the next week offering another opportunity for a sales boost.
